ACCESSの「NetFront v3.3 for PocketPC with JV-Lite2」が米雑誌「Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine」のBrowsers and Web Utilities 部門において3年連続"Best Software Awards 2006"を受賞しました。
今回NetFrontはOperaモバイル向けブラウザとBitstream’s ThunderHawk™ ブラウザをしのいでの受賞となり、Windows Mobile/Poket PCプラットフォームでの最も優れたブラウザの地位を確立しました。

Access will contribute a mobile application platform to the open source community before year's end, it says. Its "Application Framework" for GTK+ aims to offer device developers specialized mechanisms for package installation, task-oriented application interoperation, and security policy definition and management.

Access Linux Platform at LinuxWorld SF
PalmSource and parent company ACCESS were a major presence at LinuxWorld in San Francisco this past week. While other mobile Linux vendors like TrollTech and a la Mobile had announcements about upcoming reference handsets for developers or new Linux phone platforms, PalmSource was the only one to demonstrate their new operating system on real handsets.

Orange: embracing Linux with Access deal
Orange and Access Co have entered into an agreement to develop Linux-based mobile phones. France Telecom's Orange division is working with Access Co Ltd to develop mobile phones based on the Japanese ISV's Linux technology, the idea being to "provide handset and mobile device manufacturers with a turnkey mobile Linux platform."

PalmSource offers early access to Linux phone stack
Developers interested in porting applications to PalmSource's Linux implementation for mobile phones are invited to a special "PalmSource Developer Day" at this year's LinuxWorld Expo in San Francisco. Attendees will receive early access to the Access Linux Platform (ALP), and get hands-on experience building applications for the platform, PalmSource says.

ALP Named an Orange Preferred Platform; Companies developing Orange Application Package for ALP

PalmSource Releases Open-Source Code
PalmSource has developed an open-source software library designed to help mobile-application developers create file systems based on the SQLite database. PalmSource, which is a subsidiary of Japan’s Access, released the libsqlfs under a Lesser General Public License at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in San Francisco.
