PalmSource and Pdassi Launch New PalmSource German Online Store

MUNICH, Germany, PalmSource European Developer Conference, September 22, 2003 - PalmSource, Inc., provider of the popular Palm OS® operating system for handhelds and smartphones and a subsidiary of Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today announced its first localized Palm Powered™ software store for the German market. The store was developed in conjunction with Pdassi, a leading German online retailer of Palm OS software.

The store, available through PalmSource's German website www.palmsource.com/de will provide German speaking Palm Powered device users with an extensive catalogue of applications in their native language as well as a convenient way of purchasing them directly online. The store is designed to provide improved distribution to German-speaking Palm OS users, and underlines PalmSource's commitment to creating new business opportunities for the 275,000-strong Palm OS developer community.

"Mobile devices foster personalization and the ability to adapt the device to each user's specific needs and requirements. With more than 19,000 applications available for the Palm OS, software has always been an important element of the Palm Powered experience," said Albert Chu, PalmSource vice president of business development. The store will include a broad selection of applications with a special emphasis on showcasing the two thousand German developers and five thousand European developers whose Palm OS products are available in German versions. In doing so, PalmSource will leverage the technologies, distribution relationships and localization capabilities of Pdassi.de. Pdassi has more than three years of experience in the retailing of Palm OS software and has extensive know-how in development of localized databases of applications, and intuitive, simple tools that help users find and purchase the software they want. In addition, Pdassi has worked extensively with international companies to localize their software into high quality German versions.
