Techneos™ Systems Inc. Launches Mobile Enterprise Data Collection Solution at PalmSource European Developer Conference
Vancouver, Canada and Munich, Germany, September 22nd, 2003 - Techneos Systems Inc., a leading supplier of world-class mobile data collection solutions, today announced the release of the Techneos Enterprise Solution™ for Palm Powered™ handhelds and smartphones at the PalmSource European Developer Conference in Munich. This technology will be used by PalmSource, Inc. to conduct feedback questionnaires during the two-day Conference attended by industry leaders and software developers.
The Techneos Enterprise Solution is a highly scalable integrated software suite that allows market-facing organizations to design, deploy and manage mobile data collection projects. "Our new Enterprise Solution is the perfect fit for any company that needs to make fast and informed business decisions based on field-level market data", said Mark Cameron, President of Techneos Systems Inc. "This solution is faster, more accurate and more cost-effective than alternative solutions using paper or laptop computers and does not compromise power to accommodate the handheld form factor. Our technology blends power and ease-of-use, allowing customers to roll-out sophisticated data collection projects in a fraction of the time required for custom development."
The Techneos Enterprise Solution supports every current model of Palm Powered handheld or smartphone, and works with a wide range of connectivity methods-including Bluetooth, WiFi (802.11b) and Wide-Area wireless networks. Working in conjunction with Techneos' widely-adopted Entryware™ Pro software suite, the Techneos Enterprise Solution adds a web-based project management interface and highly scalable software components for communication and database management.
"PalmSource has provided a robust and flexible mobile platform, and its licensees have delivered an incredible range of devices," adds Cameron. "Many people do not realize how capable handheld computers are today. Whether you need a base level grayscale handheld, a 400MHz powerhouse with a hi-resolution color screen, or a laptop replacement with a full keyboard and a wide screen, there is a Palm Powered device to meet your needs."
"Palm Powered handhelds and smartphones are being used by world-class organizations to stay connected to mission-crticial information and data," said Larry Berkin, director of developer marketing, PalmSource. "Techneos is driving new adoption of handheld technology by harnessing the capabilities of the Palm OS platform into a powerful but easy-to-use suite of software tools."
The Techneos Enterprise Solution is available directly from Techneos Systems (www.techneos.com), or from its authorized global distributor, SPSS, Inc. (www.spss.com).
