New Trusted Mobility Suite™ Creates Security Platform for Mobile / Wireless Devices
Industry-First Policy-Based Centralized Mobile Security Software for Palm OS® provides security umbrella for Access of Mobile Devices
Kirchheim b. Mテシnchen , September 22nd, 2003 ubitexx, the leading specialist for mobile Handheld/PDA solutions and provider of Handheld/PDA security and security of PDA/Handhelds in corporate networks, today announced the release of Trusted Mobility Suite™ version 3.0 in Europe at the Palmsource Conference in Munich, Germany.
The Trusted Mobility Suite is a complete software framework for building and deploying secure mobile networks including centralized security policy management and administration for Palm Powered™ mobile devices. Trusted Mobility Suite facilitates secure development and deployment of mobile / wireless applications and devices, which can be rapidly integrated with an institution's existing infrastructure, or be the foundation of a new mobile network. Simultaneously Trusted Mobility Suite™ meets the varied constraints and capabilities of different delivery channels and end-user devices.
Handheld computers / PDA's have become strategic assets as organizations have deployed millions of these devices to their mobile workforces. Due to their small size and portability, these devices are prone to loss or theft and the organizations that manage them need to ensure a high level of data security to protect corporate intelligence and data assets, regardless of whether the devices are operating behind a firewall or outside a firewall. The data can be compromised innocently or by a purposeful attack. Reliable security policies are not only needed to detect unauthorized devices that may be introduced to the network by internal staff or outside hackers, but also to control flow of information from servers to mobile devices. Once a secure communication is terminated, data can be easily compromised and fall in the wrong hands.
Trusted Mobility Suite offers many security features companies are used to for implementing a stringent security policy management. "Trusted Mobility Suite is built upon a flexible, modular, and component-based architecture that supports rapid development of new functionality, customization of supplied functionality, and easy integration in an existing corporate network," said Markus C. Mueller, ubitexx's Managing Director and Chairman. "With bringing the Trusted Mobility Suite 3.0 to the European Market, we have continued our commitment to providing our clientele with the best security solutions, and to rapidly integrate security into their mobile network. With the ability to manage devices and manage security policies for different user and user groups this is the most complete security solution for handhelds / pda's."
Following are some of the new features of Trusted Mobility Server 3.0;
- Centralized Security Policy Management for handheld devices in networks
- Automatically detects Handhelds/PDA's in corporate networks
- Powerful VPN-solution for mobile data synchronization
- Dynamic policy push to mobile devices
- Manage large number of mobile devices with a robust and scalable server
- Comprehensive Mobile Discovery Manager and Mobile Asset Manager enhancements
- Integration with Smartcard-Reader and PKI, single sign-on
- Support for Palm OS 5.0 devices, Palm Tungsten T & C
Centralized Management Infrastructure can provide secure management and control of devices and alerts users of possible compromises and attacks by unauthorized users or devices. "Trusted Mobility Suite for Palm OS is designed to enable companies to securely manage Palm Powered mobile devices" said Larry Berkin, director of developer marketing, Palmsource, Inc. "
The Trusted Mobility Suite and PDA-Secure client have been honored by many prestigious organizations that follow developments in mobile computing and data security, including Best of Comdex, SC Magazine, Handheld Computing Magazine, Pocket PC Magazine, GoldMine and Planet PDA.
