PalmSource Celebrates Outstanding Success of European Developer Conference

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 3, 2003 -- The 2003 European PalmSource Developer Conference held on September 22-23, was a "must-attend" event for the Palm OS developer community. PalmSource hosted hundreds of Palm OS developers plus international press and analysts, partners, licensees and industry leaders, edging 400 in total attendance. Taking place during Munich's internationally famous Oktoberfest which was celebrated by all who attended, the two-day conference featured PalmSource speakers including David Nagel, president and CEO and Larry Slotnick, chief products officer, senior management from licensees Handspring, Palm Solutions Group, Samsung and Tapwave, partners and mobile operators. Conference attendees obtained the latest Palm OS technical information directly from PalmSource engineers and participated in networking events to uncover new market opportunities and learned how to effectively market and sell their Palm OS applications.

AppForge announced MobileVB 4.0 support for Palm OS 5 Palm Powered™ mobile devices, Tapwave announced the availability of the Tapwave Native Application (TNA) Model for the new Helix device, and Borland licensed the PalmSource software development kits (SDKs) and will support Palm OS development in the Borland C++BuilderX Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and latest Borland Applicaton Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions for C++. PalmSource news also included announcing its intent to launch a new German Palm OS software online store "powered by" Pdassi, the leading European online retailer of Palm OS applications.
