Visto Joins PalmSource's Palm Powered MobileWorld Program as Charter Mobile Infrastructure Partner

LAS VEGAS, Nev, Comdex, November 17, 2003 - Visto Corporation (www.visto.com), the leading provider of personal and corporate mobile access solutions that are easy to install, administer and use, announced today that it has joined PalmSource's new Palm Powered MobileWorld program as a charter member, extending the strategic relationship that the two companies announced earlier this year. Palm Powered MobileWorld, announced today at Comdex, is PalmSource's new initiative with wireless operators, infrastructure providers and application developers aimed at promoting and developing Palm OS in the wireless economy. PalmSource, Inc. (NASDAQ:PSRC) provider of Palm OS, is a leading operating system powering next generation mobile devices and smartphones.

The Palm Powered MobileWorld program is designed to enable mobile operators, infrastructure providers and software developers to take advantage of the increased revenue opportunities created by Palm Powered converged mobile devices. According to IDC (2002), the converged mobile device market is the fastest growing, revenue-producing segment of the phone market. Through the Palm Powered MobileWorld program, infrastructure partners, such as Visto, receive increased exposure to mobile operators, in addition to promotion and distribution opportunities.

Visto is a leading provider of wireless messaging solutions for Palm OS devices, as well as other mobile operating systems. In June at CeBIT New York, Visto and PalmSource announced that the companies had begun to work together to build a standard enterprise-grade wireless email client for the Palm OS platform. PalmSource and Visto intend to co-market the new default messaging solution to Palm OS licensees and their wireless operators, resulting in easier integration with existing IT infrastructures. The new email client will become the default messaging solution for the Palm OS platform.

"We are pleased to welcome Visto as a charter infrastructure provider partner in the Palm Powered MobileWorld program," said Albert Chu, vice president of business development at PalmSource, Inc. "We believe Visto will be an important contributor in the success of the Palm OS platform among wireless operators and mobile users. As a leader in their industry, combined with our relationship in co-developing the next generation of email client for Palm OS, Visto is a valued infrastructure provider partner of the Palm Powered MobileWorld program."

"With the launch of highly successful Palm Powered PCS Vision Smart Devices such as the Treo 600 by Handspring and the SPH-i500 by Samsung, Sprint has extended its leadership in innovation and integration to the smart devices category," said Phil Bowman, vice president of business marketing, PCS division of Sprint. "We look forward to leveraging PalmSource's strength in key vertical markets and platform innovation to help meet the need for custom-tailored wireless solutions on smart devices that allow our business customers to be more effective and more competitive."

"Visto is committed to developing and delivering the best messaging solutions for mobile devices, and the Palm Powered MobileWorld program is an excellent initiative to help further that goal for Visto and the Palm OS platform," said Brian Bogosian, chairman, president and CEO of Visto.
