SAN JOSE, Calif. February 10, 2004 — At the PalmSource Developer Conference today, Pleco Software announced the release of Berlitz® Phrase Books for Berlitz for Palm OS® is among the most comprehensive phrasebook packages available for any mobile device platform, and is one of the first to incorporate content from a major print publisher. The books provide a complete, easy-to-use reference to nearly all of the world's major tourist languages, offering everything a traveler needs to communicate effectively in a foreign country.
Berlitz for Palm OS has been carefully designed to maximize its usability on the full range of Palm Powered mobile devices. It supports high-resolution and extended displays, and phrases and translations are grouped together in a single, unified list in order to make best use of the available screen area. Each translated phrase can optionally be accompanied by a pronunciation guide, giving an English-like equivalent to the translated text. And thanks to its integrated Unicode support, Berlitz for Palm OS supports native display of languages with non-Roman alphabets such as Russian, Greek, and Chinese.
Berlitz for Palm OS makes full use of the outstanding array of content in the printed Berlitz phrasebook series.
