RxAct™ Medication Management Software reminds when to take, administer and refill medication; organizes user's prescription, pharmacy and doctor information

SAN JOSE, Calif., PalmSource Mobile Summit and DevCon, May 24, 2005 — Beach City Software launched today RxAct™ Medication Management Software for Palm Powered™ devices and smartphones. Utilizing high resolution graphics and a smart interface, RxAct™ allows consumers and healthcare professionals to achieve superior levels of organization and compliance in managing and administering medications and treatments. The advanced software is easy–to–use and excels in functionality and mobility. It keeps the user's medication, prescription, pharmacy and doctor information organized and available anywhere, anytime, and alerts the user when to take medication and order prescription refills. RxAct™ also includes a built–in FDA drug database which automates drug data entry.

"We believe the combination of Palm OS and RxAct™ paves the way into a new realm of drug management for the consumer and healthcare practitioner in terms of accuracy, efficiency and flexibility on a daily basis," said Larry Berkin, director of developer marketing of PalmSource. "We believe users whose quality of life depends on keeping track of large amounts of information about multiple treatments will find that RxAct™ designed for Palm Powered™ devices and smartphones provides a powerful tool for medication management."

Beach City Software's premier software offering was designed by James Gregg, president of Beach City Software, who observed a void in the medication management area of mobile software and who envisioned and created a new era in which consumers and healthcare practitioners will be in possession of an all–encompassing tool that will enable them to more precisely and efficiently manage every step of drug treatment. Especially for users whose regimen involves multiple medications, all necessary data is kept handy at all times.

Starting with the prescribing doctor's information, the user has data at his fingertips about all his prescriptions and instructions on how to administer each one. After the regimen is started, the software keeps track of when the user should take and then refill each medication and relevant pharmacy information. In addition, categories can be created so that the user can manage drug treatment for multiple patients or family members.

At any given moment, the user can easily view all data about each medication including quantities or number of doses remaining, expiration date of the prescription and the date the medicine will run out. All doctor and pharmacy information including contact numbers is readily available. The software can even tell you if the pharmacy is open at any given time.

"My intention was to eliminate the user's guesswork, confusion, and lapses in memory when it comes to taking care of their unique and specific medical needs," said James Gregg, president of Beach City Software. "Whether using the software for a brief treatment regimen or a long–term maintenance program, it provides a safety net that at times is crucial to efficient and successful treatment."

RxAct™ will be available for $19.95 starting May 24, 2005 at www.beachcitysoftware.com.
