OnVerge Labs Launches InfiniFile™ 3G Service for Palm Powered™ Smartphones and Mobile Devices at PalmSource Mobile Summit & DevCon 2005

InfiniFile™ 3G enables virtually unlimited streaming media, applications and data access to any Internet connected PC over the next generation mobile and wireless networks.

For enterprise, academic and government users the new service enables powerful new collaboration and distributed applications capabilities on Palm Powered™ smartphones. Consumers will also benefit by the instant availability of their library of programs, data, audio and video stored securely on their home PCs.

SAN JOSE, Calif., PalmSource Mobile Summit and DevCon, May 24, 2005 — OnVerge Labs today announced the new InfiniFile™ 3G solution for Palm Powered™ smartphones and mobile devices. The InfiniFile™ 3G solution with itspatent–pending technology are designed especially for the unique requirements of mobile device and smartphone use. InfiniFile™ 3G provides secure and instant access to virtually unlimited streaming multimedia, programs and databases stored on a desktop or server PC on a local network or thousands of miles away using the next–generation 3G cellular, Bluetooth or WiFi networks.

Transparent to the software running on the mobile device, thousands of existing Palm OS® applications already work with InfiniFile™, including popular media players, office applications and database applications.

Enterprise customers benefit with the instant network infrastructure enabled by InfiniFile™ 3G. Distributed processes and information access to standard documents, spreadsheets, multimedia and Palm OS programs and databases is made possible without costly custom applications development. For example, companies could simply post information and data in native office formats and have that information immediately and instantly available to field employees using Palm Powered mobile devices. Field representatives can use existing Palm OS® applications for completing forms and spreadsheets, updating shared documents, or accessing streaming media for on–the–road presentations, all easily maintained on a central computer and accessible with the 'One Tap Connect' feature of InfiniFile™ 3G. Companies can make existing non–distributed Palm OS applications network enabled and centrally managed such as reference applications or media–rich databases. The busy executive may use InfiniFile™ 3G just to maintain that extra link to the data stored on an office or home PC.

Academic applications include the centralized distribution of video, audio and even large databases for availability to students. Professors may use InfiniFile™ to distribute electronic material during classroom sessions. InfiniFile™ may be especially useful for the popular virtual classroom.

At home, over a WiFi connection, InfiniFile™ 3G becomes a network media server, providing access to streaming CD quality audio, full–screen video, games and applications on the home PC.

Availability
InfiniFile™ 3G is scheduled for beta release mid–June, 2005. It will be available from the OnVerge Labs™ web site at www.onverge.com, as well as providers of 3G services and resellers of Palm OS software.
